My experiences with the Transplant House group of people has-been wonderful! Upon arriving in Seattle and getting a cab to our apartment building, Mrs. Pat Zenk met us at the door, welcomed us, and showed us to our apartment. We were able to see all the wonderful things included for our comfort and convenience, and were completely overwhelmed with what was provided for us! Once we were comfortable with our surroundings and had no further questions about the unit Pat offered to take us to the store to do some immediate shopping for some food and necessities like TP and other hygiene items. Back at the apartment, we unpacked our groceries and such and started unpacking and making ourselves at "home away from home".

Our stay since has been just as enjoyable! Pat stops in to say hello from time to time, we have our ambassador who pops in or calls about once a week to see how things are going. If anything is broken or concerning us, it is taken care of almost immediately with no fuss no muss! Any requests we have are met with an open mind and are seriously considered if not taken up and done. The folks at the transplant house and our apartment building manager (which are two separate entities) will do anything they can to make your stay as smooth and comfortable as possible, understanding that you would much rather be home than here, and they also celebrate your successes and achievements along the way. You could say that they are an unexpected but highly appreciated extension of supporting for recovery.

In short, the people are awesome and very friendly and helpful; they've been there and know what it's like. The units are just amazing, and location convenient for access to the medical center.

How You Can Help

Our goal is to give transplant patients one less thing to worry about. We believe that having a place to stay helps make the transplant process a little less difficult and a little more comforting for patients and their caregivers. By donating or volunteering, you help provide many of the amenities that make a "home away from home" in Seattle for a transplant patient. Please consider support transplant patients by either donating or volunteering.
